So making the move to the west coast was not as hard as I thought it was going to be. Mostly because I’ve given myself time to adjust while setting up the house, home studio, and arranging meetings with studio owners/managers for future recording sessions. I did step out the house to go an event hosted by Roland where the panel discussed why creatives should dive deep into Web 3.0. It’s caught my attention and something I’m looking forward to studying.
The big thing however that I took from this move was how kick ass my team has been as of late. Because I’ve been busy with family, chores, and gathering things for our new life my team has had to step in to assist with our paid projects more. What’s been interesting is how everyone has stepped up and taken on more tasks to keep things moving. I’ll be honest with you, I expected things to slow down a bit but to my amazement everyone pushed to keep the ball rolling.
I guess what I’m saying is that this move has shown me that I may know a thing or two when it comes to recruiting good people. I would never say that I have the best barometer but I do trust my gut more than anything. I’m sure there are plenty of things that my subconscious picks up on that I don’t. Either way, it’s doing a damn good job so far.
Tomorrow will be my first official day back. However, I don’t have my iMac at the moment as it’s getting repaired. Something I should’ve done before the move but since I had some downtime I figured why not.
